Poor body image is an epidemic. We hardly expect to feel good about ourselves and we certainly don’t intend to start being really happy until we can just lose those last 5 pounds, whiten our teeth, or schedule that microdermabrasion appointment.

We feel so badly, in fact, that:

• Over 50% of women aged 18-25 would rather be run over by a truck than be overweight

• Eating disorders among men are on the rise, comprising at least 1 in 10 of those with eating disorders

• Since 1997 there has been an increase of 444% in the total number of cosmetic procedures performed
